Today, a deputation was submitted to the Honorable State Minister, Mr. Arup Roy, demanding three days of leave for Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha. The deputation was presented by Sheikh Abdul Murad, member and president of the Bhumi Supreme Council, and Asfak Ahammed, a prominent advocate at the Calcutta High Court and general secretary of Bhumi. Accompanying them was Mr. Biswajit Pramanik, an important member of Bhumi.
In response to this demand, the state government agreed to grant two days of leave, a request that had been pending since 2020 and was officially included in the 2022 calendar.
